France helps Vietnam preserve natural and cultural heritages

On September 13th, 2022, a press conference was held at Hue French Institute by the Embassy of France in Vietnam. At the event, information related to "Chia se va gin giu di san Vietnam" (sharing and preserving Vietnamese heritages) project which was initiated by the Embassy of France and supported by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and project-included activities to be held in Thua Thien Hue province was provided.

The project is aimed at specifying cooperative activities between French and Vietnamese organizations, preserving Vietnamese natural and cultural heritages. As informed by Ms. Frédérique Horn, the Attaché for Cooperation and Cultural Activities of the Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh city, this project focuses on three main fields including providing training courses for museum staff, building museum-related training programs at universities, supporting pilot projects on heritage conservation at Tourist Center (Cuc Phuong National Park - Ninh Binh province), Communication and Environmental Education Center - Cu Lao Cham marine protected area (Quang Nam province), designing "Hop ke chuyen di san" (explaining boxes) at museums (Ho Chi Minh city).   

The project attracted partners from both France and Vietnam, for example art museum, science museum, natural history museum, science and technology center, nature reserve, universities and the authorities of all levels. With the total aid of VND 14 billion sponsored by French government, the project will be carried out in two years (2022 and 2024). Other French partners will grant further funding.

Within the framework of this project, training courses on welcoming visitors, explaining, communication, museum, sustainable development, managing and storing collections will be provided to Hue museum staff.
