At the reception, Mr. Dirk Hilbert briefly introduced the potentials and strengths of Dresden city. Accordingly, Dresden is one of the centers for culture, education, politics and economy of the Federal Republic of Germany. It has the most dynamic economy and various high-tech industries. Being home to diverse cultural heritages, Dresden also attracts the largest number of tourist. Mr. Dirk Hilbert believed that Dresden shares many things in common in terms of economy and culture with Thua Thien Hue province. Therefore, Mayor of Dresden city hoped that the two localities will cooperate in culture, education and tourism to accelerate socio-economic development. On this occasion, Mr. Dirk Hilbert sincerely invited Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho and delegation to Dresden city at the earliest convenience.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho extended his sincere thanks to Mayor of Dresden city and delegates for researching and promoting bilateral cooperation development. The friendly cooperation between Thua Thien Hue province and the Federal Republic of Germany as well as the positive support of the Government, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam have made considerable contribution to the socio-economic development of Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue province in particular. On the basis of current strengths, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho wished the two parties would promote cooperation relation in various fields in the coming time. In detail, the two localities will promote cooperation activities in the fields of medical technology transfer, science, agriculture, environment and high quality vocational training. Thua Thien Hue province and Dresden city will together conserve cultural heritages, manage museum and promote tourism. Through the bilateral relation, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee hoped that Mr. Dirk Hilbert will introduce enterprises to research, do survey and look for investment opportunity in Thua Thien Hue province in the fields of high technology development, information technology and telecommunication, new materials, etc.
