Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Phuong emphasized that smart city has become a strong development trend as well as a revolution in urban management. In the past time, Thua Thien Hue province has focused on developing smart city towards city which includes smart economy, smart management, smart transportation, smart power, smart health, smart education and the most up-to-date information technology, etc. Through dialogue program, Thua Thien Hue province hoped to connect with US companies to get effective solutions and orientations in urban planning as well as developing fields including infrastructure, software, hardware, environment, power and healthcare.

According to US Embassy's Commercial Counselor Stuart Schaag, US government and companies are always willing to help Vietnam and Thua Thien Hue province develop infrastructure and apply new technology in smart city including power and smart grid, water and wastewater, transportation, public security and health care. On this occasion, US representative expected to provide support information and expertise consultant for planning work and pilot projects on developing smart city as well as further strengthening US - Vietnam cooperation in general and US - Thua Thien Hue province relation in particular.

At the dialogue

At the event, Thua Thien Hue province presented plan on developing smart city and portal government; projects on developing smart city; objective, plan to develop smart transportation and smart healthcare in province. US companies also took turn to briefly introduce company's strength, strategy and investment plan. US companies expected to establish the relationship with local enterprises as well as provide expertise solutions and services to support Thua Thien Hue province in developing smart city in accordance with its distinctive features.
