The event attracted 165 representatives from 58 organizations, units of water sector in Vietnam and 7 leading units from Japan water sector. The conference is aimed to exchange and share difficulties, experience to provide Vietnam water supply companies with consultancy, technology transfer, advanced water supply technology as well as promoting business and cooperation relation between Vietnam and Japan. Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Dung speaks at the conference

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Dung highly appreciated the cooperation relation between water sectors of the two countries. Projects implemented by Yokohama Waterworks Bureau in Thua Thien Hue province has shown and become one of the models for international cooperation relation in water sector in Vietnam, Vice Chairman Dung emphasized. On this basis, Vice Chairman Dung highly welcomed and made commitment to effectively participate in projects on business link, investment of Yokohama Waterwork Bureau and Yokohama Water Business Association in Hue city in accordance with the principle of equality and mutual benefit. Also, Vice Chairman Dung kindly informed that Thua Thien Hue province has supplied safe water to nearly 1 million resident which accounts for 83% of population. However, there are still about 200.000 resident living in remote and moutainous area have not accessed to clean water. Therefore, Thua Thien Hue province hoped to continue to recieve attention, support and cooperation opportunity from Japan's water sector to enhance local water supply capacity, contribute to improve resident's living standard.
