At the reception, Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho extended his sincere thank and highly appreciated bilateral fruitful cooperation activities, particularly healthcare, education and training, war aftermath recovery, disaster prevention and Hue heritage conservation.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee wished to receive the support of US enterprises in the fields of healthcare, education, information technology and tourism. Of all, tourism is local flagship promising economic sector. Therefore, Chairman hoped that the Consul General of US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city would introduce the province and local tourism potential to US resident. Chairman expected that the Consul General would connect the province with US enterprises and universities in tourism development investment, human resource training and shared-interest fields. In particular, the province has potentials for IT development. At present, the province is building smart city on the basis of e-government. The province has several advantages in terms of human resource, intellectual staff and land infrastructure, ect. Therefore, the province hopes that leading IT enterprises would invest and support local development.

Speaking at the reception, Consul General of US Consulate General in  Ho Chi Minh city extended his sincere thank to provincial leaders for the warm welcome. Consul General was impressed by traditional cultural architecture of Hue monuments complex, the romantic beauty and peace of Hue  city. The visit affirms and promotes the fruitful cooperation between the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city and Thua Thien Hue province in the coming time.

Consul General emphasized that it is necessary to focus on education and training, healthcare, culture and Hue heritage conservation; promote economic-commercial relation between US enterprise community (including US enterprises running in Vietnam and those running in the US) and Thua Thien Hue province in the fields of healthcare, airline, clean energy and smart city development.

At the reception, US leading investors such as Dell, IBM, Microsoft, HP, Intel, etc introduced solutions for local smart city development. Besides, investors hoped to establish cooperative relation and provided technical support.
