At the reception, H.E. Ambassador Catherine Wong extended her sincere gratitude to provincial leaders for the courteous reception. The Ambassador hoped that provincial leaders will continue concern and facilitate the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security of the Republic of Singapore. Also, H.E. Ambassador hoped that the official visit of Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will open up more cooperation opportunities between Singapore and Thua Thien Hue province. H.E. Ambassador was very happy to observe Thua Thien Hue cadres attending training courses in Singapore. Ambassador would create every favorable condition to welcome provincial leaders joining in upcoming training courses in Singapore.

Speaking at the reception, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu highly appreciated the official visit to Vietnam of Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean. Secretary Le Truong Luu kindly informed that there are 4 projects invested by Singaporean investors in Thua Thien Hue province. Of all, Laguna high quality resort invested by Banyan Tree Group in Chan May - Lang Co economic zone was recently approved to increase investment capital to USD 2 billion by the Prime Minister.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu hoped that the Ambassador would continue to support Thua Thien Hue province in attracting Singaporean enterprises to research, survey, find investment opportunity in province; promote training cooperation, human resource development and cadres training; cooperate in advertising and promoting tourism; build and develop tourism products; upgrade Vietnam - Singapore relation in general and Thua Thien Hue province - Singapore relation in particular.
