Speaking at the reception, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho introduced achievements in local socio-economic development. Also, Chairman highly appreciated the support and cooperation of international organizations, enterprises and experts.

Chairman kindly informed that province completed many socio-economic objectives, obtained 7,15% economic growth and had proper economic structure transition (50,4% tourism: 31,6% industry-construction: 11% agriculture-forestry-fishery). In 2018, province welcomed 4,2 million tourists including 2 million international tourists. Its export value was over USD 920 million. Besides, province received 7 new FDI projects, modified 2 FDI projects with the total registered capital of USD 1.162 million.

Chairman emphasized that international organizations, experts and investors made contribution to these achievements by their effective support and cooperation. Lots of investment projects and cooperation programs in the fields of tourism, infrastructure, rural agriculture, health, education and training, poverty alleviation, climate change adaptation as well as activities for investment promotion have been effectively implemented in the province.

As 2019 is the year of administration discipline as well as enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of political system, Chairman hoped that international individuals and organizations will continue cooperating in local socio-economic development. At the event, Chairman made commitment to support, concern and take action to improve investment environment, cooperate, facilitate organizations and individuals during working in province, etc.
