On August 7th, the Special Senior Official Meeting of the 18th Meeting of the ASEAN Minister on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three and strategic partners (China, Japan and South Korea) took place in Hue city. The event is an annual meeting held within the framework of AMAF President Project and AMAF President tenure of Vietnam.

During the past time, Asean countries and 3 partners (China, Japan and South Korea) has had a long term cooperation relation. Countries have achieved encouraging results in ASEAN +3 strategy for food, agriculture and forestry since 2016, programs, projects, food security research and development, sustainable forestry development, capacity enhancement, epidemic management, etc. Agreement on ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reverse (APTERR), ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) contributed to promoting food security and solving disaster consequences in ASEAN.

On AMAF ASEAN +3 meeting, delegates focused on discussing prioritized contents in the field of agriculture such as ASEAN +3 policy framework regarding to food, agriculture, forestry. Also, delegates considered issues regarding to food security, sustainable forest management, climate change adaptation, epidemic control and management; promoted regional cooperation on science and technology, trade, chains of sustainable agricultural values, etc.
