At the meeting, Secretary Le Truong Luu sent new year greetings and expressed his pleasure to welcome the Ambassador and delegates. Secretary extended his sincere gratitude to Lao agencies and localities for their support during the time that the province searched and gathered the remains of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who lost their lives in Laos. The provincial leader suggested Lao government develop policies aimed at assisting Hue locals who are doing business and residing in Laos; closely cooperate with Thua Thien Hue in border protection; establish a safe border area; create every favorable condition for people living in border areas to trade as well as promote cultural exchange, sports and tourism activities.

Secretary Le Truong Luu hoped that the Ambassador will help accelerate the comprehensive cooperation relation between Thua Thien Hue and Lao localities, contributing to strengthening Vietnam - Laos relation.

On behalf of the delegation, Ambassador extended his sincere thank to leaders of Thua Thien Hue province for spending time working with the delegation. The Ambassador highly appreciated the fruitful bilateral relation between Vietnam and Laos as well as Thua Thien Hue and Lao localities. The Ambassador was grateful the Party, government and people of Thua Thien Hue province for having supported Salavan and Sekong province; offered medical equipment to Lao localities during the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

The Ambassador hoped that Thua Thien Hue will further support Laos localities in terms of human resource training. "As an Ambassador, I will connect and promote Vietnam - Laos friendly comprehensive relation as well as the traditional relation between Thua Thien Hue and Lao localities" said Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang.
