Japanese leading groups eye investment opportunities in Chan May - Lang Co economic zone

On March 16th 2022, the Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Van Phuong had a meeting with Itochu group, Yoshida Kaiun group and Western Pacific Joint Stock Company about investment opportunities in Chan May - Lang Co economic zone.

Ms. Pham Thi Bich Hue, the Chairman of the Boards of Western Pacific Joint Stock Company kindly informed that Western Pacific conducted works and cooperated with consultant to research investment opportunities. With a view to promote cooperation with global leading groups running in the same field, Itochu and Yoshida Kaiun wished to cooperate with Western Pacific and learn more about province's development orientation in the fields of seaport, logistics and industrial complex.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong warmly welcomed Western Pacific for searching investment opportunity in Chan May - Lang Co economic zone. The province also hoped to welcome major investors, creating a breakthrough in local socio-economic development, said Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong. As informed by the provincial leader, Thua Thien Hue will sustainably develop Chan May - Lang Co into an important dynamic economic zone connecting provinces and cities in Central key economic zone; invest in developing local infrastructure comprehensively; focus on investing in projects on seaport infrastructure, industrial zone infrastructure, non-tariff area, high-tech industrial zone and Chan May urban area.

At present, Thua Thien Hue is searching and cooperating with central agencies to file and propose some mechanisms/policies to be applied to Chan May - Lang Co economic zone, particularly major dynamic projects and economic zone infrastructure projects. The province will attract foreign investment in modern industries, high-tech industry and clean industry, projects on technology development and technology transfer for environmental protection and sustainable development; focus on projects on the infrastructure of sea port, industrial zone, non-tariff areas, Chan May urban areas, etc.

Chairman affirmed that Thua Thien Hue will support and create every favorable condition for investors to learn and implement projects; timely solve and meet the demand of investors.
