Facing Covid-19 pandemic, Thua Thien Hue province showed the close bilateral cooperation relation and offered Savannakhet province medical supplies containing 50.000 face masks, 800 protective suits and 250 liters of antiseptic solution.

On this occasion, functional units of Thua Thien Hue province and Savannakhet (Laos) exchanged information regarding pandemic situation and prevention experience. Leaders of the two localities agreed to cooperate and share information in order to struggle against the pandemic and prevent its spreading in the shared border areas.

Speaking at the working session, Permanent Deputy Secretary Bui Thanh Ha emphasized that the pandemic is still unpredictable, at high risk of spreading and likely to badly affect socio-economic situation and people's life. Therefore, measures should be taken to control and prevent outbreaks. In the time to come, Thua Thien Hue would continue cooperating with Savannakhet province in pandemic prevention and monitoring Laotian students studying in Hue city. The province kindly requested Savannakhet to inform Vietnamese living and working in Savannakhet so that they would well comply with instructions of local authority, soon have a stable life, restrict movement and proactively prevent the pandemic.

The representative of Savannakhet province, Mr. Phoxay Xaynhasone extended his sincere thanks to Thua Thien Hue for the great affections. The Deputy Secretary, Vice Governor of Savannakhet stated that this is not only a material support, but also an emotional encouragement to the province in preventing Covid-19 pandemic. Savannakhet province is willing to cooperate with Thua Thien Hue to deal with the pandemic, Mr. Phoxay Xaynhasone emphasized.
