At the meeting, Mr. Hilmar Rod the Chief Executive Officer of Sibelco Company briefly introduced company’s history, production, business and its fields of production. Accordingly, Sibelco was founded in 1872, initially supplying silica sand from deposits in Flanders to Belgium’s major glass producers.  The company sources, transforms and distributes specialty industrial minerals - particularly silica, clays, feldpathics and olivine - and is a leader in glass recycling. Today, Sibelco is a global material solutions business, operating 118 production sites in 51 countries. 

Mr. Himar Rode kindly informed that Sibelco expected to research and invest in long term in Thua Thien Hue.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong highly appreciated and welcomed Sibelco to eye investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue. Sibelco’s investment ideas and objectives are appropriate with province’s development, the provincial leader emphasized. Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong stated that Thua Thien Hue will always create every favorable condition for investors, particular international investors like Sibelco to research and invest in the province. Chairman expected that Sibelco would carry out projects in the province in the coming time.
