The national digital transformation program to 2025, orientation to 2030 was kicked off in 2020. Therefore, its theme was “Chuyen doi so khoi dau khat vong cho mot thap ky hanh dong” (“Digital transformation, the beginning of the desire for a decade of action”). 

As informed by Mr. Nguyen Phu Tien, Deputy Head of Information Technology Application Authority, DTI 2020 assessed digital transformation of ministries providing public services, those not providing public services and provinces. Data was synthesized from four sources. 

The average DTI 2020 recorded in provinces was 0,3026. On average, ministries providing public services and not providing public services scored 0,3982 and 0,2342, respectively. These results showed that ministries and localities were in their beginning stage of promoting digital transformation. 

Finance Ministry topped the list of ministries not providing public services with 0,4944 point. Among 7 ministries/sectors not providing public services, Vietnam Television ranked first with 0,2995 point. 

Taking the first spot in country-wide DTI ranking 2020 with 0,4874 point, Danang also took the lead in three components (e-government, e-economy and e-society) and was  followed by top ten localities, namely Thua Thien Hue, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh city, Tien Giang, Can Tho, Ninh Binh, Kien Giang and Bac Giang. 

As current DTI was still low, the representative of IT Application Authority reminded localities of promoting digital transformation in all aspects e-government, e-economy and e-society. Based on DTI, ministries, sectors and localities were advised to improve  current low index.
