Speaking at the conference, Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh extended his pleasure to attend the 12th East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress. As a key member in “East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress” organized in Nara prefecture, Thua Thien Hue has always considered the Congress as an important forum to discuss problems faced by the community, enhance mutual understanding through open discussion and solve issues cared by parties.

Vice Permanent Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Thanh Binh kindly informed that Thua Thien Hue province absolutely agreed with two topics discussed at the conference, i.e. promoting regional exchange and cooperation within Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and “thriving for high-quality socio-economic development through commercial system and modern logistics. The province paid special attention to “Green transformation and development”. Thua Thien Hue province has always applied green economic model instead of traditional economic model with a view to promote green growth, enhance competitiveness, ensure rapid, effective, sustainable economy, enhance local material and mental life, improve the resilience to climate change of urban system in the province.

The province hoped to make practical contribution to congress program, introduce efforts made by local government in finding solutions and policies for business and resident, diversify products, accelerate digital transformation in socio-economic fields, learn practical lesson on green and sustainable development, make contribution to socio-economic development in the coming time.

The East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress was held for the first time in Nara prefecture, Japan in 2010. The event brought localities and regions a chance to discuss problems currently dealt by communities. After open discussion, parties adopt solutions to solve challenges faced by localities. Ever since, the conference is regularly held in Nara prefecture.
