Speaking at the meeting, the regional Director extended her sincere thank to provincial leaders for spending their precious time working with the delegation. The representative of AUF in Asia - Pacific region shared that AUF has the membership of more than 1000 universities around the world. As informed, AUF's mission is to support the cooperation and linkage among French-speaking institutions, contributing to the development of under-graduate teaching and researching activities. Besides, AUF also joins in developing a scientific research space for member countries of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

In Asia - Pacific region, AUF office is located in Ha Noi National University (Vietnam). In the past years, the office has established the close-knit relation with 42 universities; supported 36 under-graduate programs and 14 masters programs; organized scientific workshops and conferences; granted scholarships for teachers and students. In Thua Thien Hue province, AUF has cooperated with the People's Committee of Hue city to implement Hue intellectual project; introduced open-source softwares for teachers and students; worked with Hue University and member universities to deploy projects such as ECOBOOT, BNEUF library and so on.

On this visit, AUF office would like to review achievements obtained in the past time and expand the cooperative relation between AUF and Thua Thien Hue province as well as Hue University in the future. AUF is interested in IT application in urban development, education and training and social activities, making contribution to promoting local sustainable development.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Van Phuong expressed his pleasure to welcome Ms. Ouidad Tebbaa, Asia - Pacific AUF office director and delegates. Vice Chairman highly appreciated AUF activities in Hue and Hue University in the past time. Vice Chairman affirmed that, Thua Thien Hue is always willing to expand cooperative relations with foreign partners in the fields of smart city and high-quality human resources training. In addition to AUF's on-going programs, the leader of Thua Thien Hue province hoped that AUF would support the province in start-up, urban development, and studying the ancient city for coming development.
