At the meeting, leaders of the two provinces informed local socio-economic situation and development plan. The two parties also assessed cooperation activities and results achieved in the past time. Contents discussed at the meeting allowed the two provinces to further accelerate bilateral cooperation relation in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phoxay Xaynhaxon extended his sincere thank to Thua Thien Hue province for the warm welcome. The Deputy Governor of Savannakhet province emphasized that the bilateral cooperation relation has been unceasingly strengthened thanks to the support of the Party, authority and people of Thua Thien Hue province. On Vietnamese Lunar New Year 2020 occasion, Mr. Phoxay Xaynhaxon wished the Party, authority and people of Thua Thien Hue province a joyful and successful new year. The representative of Savannakhet senior delegation hoped that the two localities would cooperate, contribute to promoting socio-economic development as well as accelerate the traditional relation between the two countries in general and two provinces in particular.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu expressed his sincere gratitude to the Party, authority and people of Savannakhet province for extending great affection to Thua Thien Hue in the past time, especially holiday occasions. Mr. Le Truong Luu affirmed that bilateral cooperation has made contribution to enhancing the friendly relation between Vietnam and Lao. In addition to cooperation activities agreed between the two province, Secretary Le Truong Luu hoped that the two parties would jointly disseminate the friendly relation, solidarity between Vietnam and Lao in general as well as Thua Thien Hue and Savannakhet in particular.

On Lunar New Year occasion, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Governor of Savannakhet province - Mr. Phoxay Xaynhaxon presented flower to the Party, authority and people of Thua Thien Hue province. 

In the past time, Thua Thien Hue province has proactively implemented MOUs, achieved considerable results in various fields ranging from politics, foreign affairs to economy, investment, culture, education, health care, security, national defense, national border and territory. These efforts contributed to stabilizing and promoting the special solidarity between Vietnam and Lao.
