According to Mr. Christopher Abrams, USAID/Vietnam is part of the US Government Agency, aiming at carrying out policies and supports of the US Government in Vietnam. In the past years, USAID/Vietnam has implemented many projects for health, education, new epidemic control, environment, and war consequences. USAID/Vietnam has been conducting activities following US President Obama’s initiative in the fields of environmental protection and climate change adaptation. Therefore, USAID/Vietnam would like to cooperate with Thua Thien Hue authorities to carry out environmental protection activities in the province in order to help local authorities and people to deal well with climate change and protect environment sustainably.

Vice Chairman Tho expressed his thanks for the US cooperative and supported projects in Thua Thien Hue in the past years. Thua Thien Hue is one of the provinces with important and typical biological diversity in Vietnam. Thua Thien Hue has cooperated with many international organizations in the fields of environmental protection and climate change adaptation such as WWF with Green corridor project, ADB with Biological diversity project, etc. Therefore, Thua Thien Hue supports and readies to cooperate with USAID to conduct activities for environmental protection and climate change adaptation in the province. Functional departments of the province will provide information and cooperate with USAID to map out a cooperative program to implement USAID activities in the coming time.
